Agreements between China and US on Trade
A meeting of boosting trade between China and US was held onTuesday.
During the 19th meeting of China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT) at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library near Los Angeles, the agreements were signed and this is the 25th year of the JCCT. The agreements will definitely attract more US companies investing in China.
The meeting this time mainly focuses on food security, loan for medical equipment purchase, promotion of digital TV, cooperation in agriculture and on trade statistics.
At the one-day JCCT meeting, co-chaired by Vice-Premier Wang Qishan, US Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez and Trade Representative Susan Schwab, the two sides agreed to boost cooperation between their working groups in the fields of intellectual property rights, information industry and so on.
The JCCT is a good platform for two governments to communicate and solve problems. What is more, it is better for the two countries to extend economic and trade cooperation. The two countries should hold this opportunity to strengthen their cooperation. It is said that the US attaches great importance to the JCCT mechanism and expect the bilateral economic and trade ties will be created.
As China is the second largest trading partner of the US, hence Washington favors long-term cooperation with Beijing to benefit the peoples of both countries.
It is very important maintain close in economy and trade as the global economy fluctuates.
The head of the Chinese delegation Wang said, “The Chinese government is well aware of the fact that the US, the largest developed country, and China, the largest developing country, should have constructive and cooperative economic and trade ties”. Wang led a delegation of senior officials from the commerce, foreign, finance, agriculture and other ministries, and the General Administration of Civil Aviation to the JCCT.
