Dalian enlarge its business in Japan
A software park was opened in Tokyo, Japan the day before yesterday by Dalian, a major software outsourcing base for Japan due to its geographical proximity and skilled workforce.
The park is expected to strengthen the ties between companies in Dalian, the China’s information technology outsourcing hub and clients in Japan. What is more, the Dalian Vice-Mayor Dai Yulin hopes the park can help cut costs of companies in Dalian when they expand their presence in Japan.
More than 800 companies and 70,000 people work in the IT outsourcing industry in Dalian. Software exports from the city are forecast to exceed $1billion this year.
Dalian is developing fast with the aim of booming its outsourcing for information technology. So far there have been over 20 Dalian companies setting up their offices in Japan. By mid-November, over 35 companies were ready to move into the park.
According to Dai, Dalian tends to open similar IT parks in other Western countries as the global crisis could create new opportunities for the city.
Based on a survey conducted by market research firm IDC last year, Dalian is able to become a better destination of global delivery than Beijing and Shanghai.
