IFB Bid for Zhejiang Urban Environment Project

1. PRC has received a loan from the World Bank towards the cost of Zhejiang Urban Environment Project. It is intended that part of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for works (JNWW/C1) of Ningbo Jiangnan Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Summary: Ningbo JNWWTP (Capacity: 160k m3/d) adopts A2/O process to remove N & P. After treatment, effluent is discharged into the Yongjiang River; after being dewatered and dried, sludge is transported to a thermal power plant for incineration.

Scope of Contract JNWW/C1: The scope covers all works in Sub-plot 2 east to canal, incl. structures/bldgs, pipes, and works of water reclamation, fi re control, lighting, road and landscaping. Const. period: 17 months

2. Ningbo Urban Infrastructure Development Co acting as project management agency, via its procurement agent Zhejiang International Tech. & Equip. Tendering Co Ltd (ZITET, Tel.: 86-571-85860252), now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction and completion of the above mentioned works.

3. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the World Bank Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Works.

4. ZITET will issue bidding documents during 9:00 – 11;30 and 13:30 – 17:00 (Beijing time) as of

Sept. 12, 2008 (except holidays). A copy of bidding documents may be purchased by bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ¥2,000.00 or US$300.00.

5. Bids must be delivered to the office of the Employer at or before 10:00 a.m. (Beijing time) on

Oct. 24, 2008 and must be accompanied by a security of not less than 2% of bid amount.

6. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 10:00 a.m. (Beijing time) on Oct. 24, 2008.
