The People’s Republic of China has applied for a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Anhui Highway Rehabilitation and Improvement Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments of the following Works.

Applications may be made for prequalification for one or more of the contracts. The CMC International Tendering Company, the procurement agent, authorized by Anhui Provincial Communications Department World Bank Loaned Project Execution Office, intends to prequalify contractors for the said Civil Works.

Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the Employer’s address below from 9:00 am to 16:00 pm, May 9, 2008 (Beijing time, except holidays). A complete set of the prequalification document in Chinese or English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the Employer’s address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of RMB 1,000 or in US$150.

Applications for prequalification of sub-grade contracts should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the Employer’s address below by 15:00 pm, June 9, 2008 (Beijing time).
