IFB Bid for Shanghai Urban Environment Project

INVITATION FOR BID

The Government of the People’s Republic of China has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development towards the cost of Shanghai Urban Environment Project, APL2, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract BST2.3 – SUPPLY, INSTALLATION OF EQUIPMENT AND CIVIL WORKS FOR SLUDGE MECHANICAL CONDENSATION, DIGESTION AND DRYING SYSTEM OF BAILONGGANG WWTP. The main work includes: supply, installation, commissioning and trial running of sludge digestion system; supply, installation, commissioning and trial running of sludge drying system; Civil works for egg-shaped digestion tank; etc. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders between 9:30 and 11:00 am /1:00 and 4:00 pm (Beijing time) from April 21, 2008 (except Saturday, Sunday and holidays), upon payment of a non-refundable fee of RMB2,500 or USD$350. A Chinese translation is also available at the same address with additional payment. However, in any case where discrepancy is found between the Chinese and English documents, the English shall govern. If being so requested at the time of application, the bidding document will be sent by express mail with an additional fee of RMB100.00 for within China, or RMB800.00 for outside of China.

Bids must be delivered to the address of SITC at or before 10:00 am on June 23, 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 2% of the bid price in RMB or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected.

Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend the bid-opening meeting at the address of SITC at 10:00 am on June 23, 2008.
