The fair was expected to promote exchanges between small and medium-sized enterprises at home and abroad. More than 10,000 participants were expected from overseas.

The South Korean delegation included more than 250 exhibiting firms from a wide range of industries and about 5,000 professional buyers.

The organizing committee of this time would like to set up an exhibition pavilion for members of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), which is expected to be a new highlight at the event. About 20 of the 45 ASEM members used the platform to promote their own products, investment and trade opportunities.

Overseas delegations that have registered to hold seminars for the promotion of investment opportunities include many countries. The United Kingdom promoted the pivotal role of London as an international financial centre, while the United States displayed its competitive e-commerce solutions for SMEs.

The fair is jointly sponsored by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, China Banking Regulatory Commission and the provincial government of Guangdong.
