Exports of dairy products fall a lot

Exports of dairy goods have stopped its pace during what usually is the best time of the year for the industry, which due to the tainted-milk food scandal.

Dairy scandal has created distrust in Chinese dairy products and other China-make food products, which decreased the export of Chinese food products seriously. According to latest General Administration of Customs (GAC) figures, only 1,036 tons of dairy products were exported in October, down 92% year-on-year. Highest standards for food safety

Last week, the highest standards of food of imports, exports and domestic consumption have been unveiled by the government.

According to the senior officials, in order to check imports from the United States strictly, China will send food and drug quality control officials to the country—as US FDA has opened its offices in China.

US food and drug agency opens office in Beijing

November 21st, 2008

To better guarantee the safety of increasing Chinese food imports, the US Food and Drug Administration opened its first overseas office in Beijing on November 19.

“A permanent FDA presence in China will help us address the challenges presented by globalization,” FDA commissioner Andrew Von Eschebath said at the opening ceremony. FDA to open offices in China

November 19th, 2008

Three offices will be opened in China by the US Food and Drug Administration this week to help guarantee the export safety to America. According to the office of US Health and Human Service (HHS) Secretary Mike Leavitt, the new offices are the first offices outside of the United States, and it will promote the effectiveness in protecting consumers from America and China.
