This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 673 online on Feb 28, 2006 and in dgMarket on Feb. 9, 2006.

The People’s Republic of China has applied for a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the FUJIAN HIGHWAY SECTOR INVESTMENT PROJECT, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the following contracts. Fujian Provincial Expressway Construction Directorate intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for the following Works to be procured. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in June, 2008.

Applications may be made for prequalification for one or more of the above contracts.

Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.
