Fewer MNCs change their locations out of China

Zhizaoye According to a survey, in spite of higher operational costs brought by the financial crisis, there are fewer multinational companies focusing on manufacturing planning to relocate their manufacturing facilities out of China.

Intel’s restructure brought unit closure in Shanghai

Intel In order to streamline manufacturing operations in China, Intel Corporation, the giant company famous for its semiconductor manufacturing, last Thursday claimed the closure of a plant in Pudong of Shanghai.

China’s manufacturing shriveled because of less demand for exports

chukou2Based on a survey, because of recessions in the US, Europe and Japan less demand for exports, China’s manufacturing contracted for a fifth month in December.

The CLSA China Purchasing Managers’ Index stood at a seasonally adjusted 41.2, compared with a record low of 40.9 in November, according to CLSA Asia Pacific Markets last Friday in an emailed statement. The index which is below 50 reflects a contraction. Read more…
