Since small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Guangdong has been struggling with the global economic crisis for such a long time, the provincial government is planning to take measures to help SMEs improve their innovation capacity.

Each year, the provincial government will appropriate at least 200 million yuan to help SMEs development technology.

The government has done all they can to reduce the crisis impact on SMEs. But during the global recession, there are still some SMEs going well in adversity.

Jian Juefei, the general manager of Foshan Jian’s Household Electrical Alliances Manufactory, is confident with his company and the future.

In 2008, sales volume and revenues of the company are both better than 2007.

Currently, Jian’s purple clayware has accounted for 60% of the domestic market share.

As a leading role in the clayware industry and one of the most professional clayware makers, the company has been run by Jian for more than 20 years.

They have never lost their focus since they decided to produce purple clayware in 1986, Jian said, the key to success is a clear mission making one thing.

The central government is encouraging domestic enterprises to shift their emphasis from the international market to domestic sales to withstand the global crisis.

Jian’s company has always been doing this, with 80% of its products are sold in China.

As the general manager said, in order to survive from the crisis, enterprises must be very strong in their internal management.

Blaming the external environment is not what they should do, but they should find solutions by themselves, he said.

He believes the domestic market of daily commodities will recover soon because no matter how bad the economy is, people always need them, he added, keeping innovation and upgrading products is the only way to keep growing.

The government is going to spend 1 billion yuan every year until 2012 to help modern service providers and advanced manufacturing enterprises sustain development.

A special fund will also be established by the government to support import and export companies which is likely to keep growing in the future.

Every year, the provincial government will spend at least 700 million yuan to support the less developed areas including the western and eastern Guangdong to develop economy.
