Joomla / PHP / MySQL Engineer

Responsibilities

The Joomla / PHP/ MySQL Engineer will be responsible for developing and administering all web marketing infrastructure for BPOVIA.com as well as other websites.

Day-to-day work will include:

  • Develop new site functionality according to specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with designing team to ensure we create an exciting product.
  • Create well-architected, maintainable code.
  • Take ownership of your core functional area.
  • Design database tables to support the front end.
  • Optimize poorly performing parts of the application.
  • Fix bugs and support QA activities.

Qualifications

  • Top-notch web application development skills in addition to robust PHP programming skills in order.
  • PHP, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, Drupal, Linux, HTML.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing database driven web applications preferred.
  • Strong software engineering skills.
  • Ability to quickly implement a functional spec to deployable code.
  • Experience with PHP, MySQL, CSS, AJAX.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, development tools (vim/emacs, grep, sed, etc.).
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
